before & after

Garage sale find Credenza! This was a really fun project that my friend and I did together. We had quite the adventure repurposing our lovely Credenza that we instantly fell in love with and had to give up so quickly (only took one day to sell!)
First we sanded and cleaned the entire piece, then painted it with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint, a creamy off-white color called "Old Ochre." We then went on a little adventure to find old reclaimed wood to use as a backing, that would also show through the glass doors in front. We found exactly what we had in mind and nailed around 20 planks to the back with a little space in between each. We then lightly distressed the entire piece enabling the old paint colors and original wood to show through, threw on some amazing knobs from Anthropologie called "Spanish Moss" and called it a day... I mean a couple weeks. :) This project was really a great example of looking beyond the challenge to see something's true potential!
